Structured Thinking and Relational Reasoning Lab

Welcome to the Structured Thinking and Relational Reasoning Lab in the  Department of Psychology at the University of Hawai`i at Manoa.

In the lab we study how the representations that underlie relational cognition are learned and used by children and adults.  Specifically, we are interested in problems like how children learn to understand relations like “above”, “bigger-than”, or “chases”, and how neural architectures (like brains or artificial neural networks) learn and represent relations.  We use both behavioral experiments with children and adults and computational methods to explore these issues.

You can use the navigation bar at the top of this page to learn more about the work in our lab and our lab members.
